Culture, Caring, and Compassion

Culture consists of attitudes, beliefs, and values. Learning about
culture helps patients receive great care, produces better co-worker
        relationships, and improves job performance.

         • Self-awareness (self-reflection) on your personal values, bias, prejudices
provide insight to become open-minded when dealing with cultures other
           than your own

         • Learn as much as you can about the cultures of your patients and/or
           colleagues

        • Value the diversity around
           you

        • Read literature on cultural
           diversity

        • Treat everyone fairly
