Technology allows us to easily share information with others through the use of social
media sites, mobile devices, instant messages, etc.
• Instant communication and social media must be used responsibly to ensure we are respecting
our patient's privacy.
• Patient information, including photos, should NEVER be used or disclosed via social media.
• NEVER photograph patients or take photos in patient care areas
• NEVER make online comments, posts, or blogs about the care of a patient or your interactions
with them
Be aware that information posted online may be available to anyone, forever, and can easily be
misunderstood; be sure to PAUSE before you POST.
