Fire Safety
A Code Red with a general location
announcement is made. The exact location of
the fire is not announced until someone notifies
the operator with this information.
When there is a fire alarm, the chimes/bells will
activate, and the strobe lights will continue to
flash. Advance notification will be given for
routine testing. A fire drill may be conducted
without prior notice.
Employees must respond to all alarms with
urgency unless informed otherwise. Refrain from
traveling through the fire doors until the all clear
has been announced.
Healthcare workers must be able to identify fire
risks to prevent fires and must know what to do
if a fire occurs in an effort to protect our
patients, staff, and visitors.
