HIPAA Privacy and Confidentiality
The Role of the Baptist Health Privacy
Office is to:
• Provide HIPAA Privacy Education to the
Baptist Health workforce.
• Serve as a Patient Advocate to ensure
patients are afforded their privacy rights
under HIPAA.
• Serve as an Internal Resource within the
organization and provide technical
assistance to employees and leaders.
• Ensure there are processes in place to
Safeguard Data, such as patient,
employee, financial, and proprietary data.
• Audit and Monitor compliance with the
Privacy Rule and state regulations.
