“the Notice”
The Notice of Privacy Practices ('NPP' or 'the
Notice') has been updated to reflect patients’
expanded rights under HIPAA Omnibus and is
provided to every patient at first service delivery,
which generally occurs during the patient’s
registration process.
The purpose of the Notice is to:
• Describe Baptist Health’s obligations under
HIPAA and the different ways that we may use and
disclose patient information.
• Inform patients about their rights under HIPAA
and how to exercise those rights.
• Educate patients how to report suspected
violations of privacy rights to the Baptist Health’s
HIPAA Hotline at 786-596-8850 or the Chief
Privacy Officer at Privacy@BaptistHealth.net.
The updated Notice informs individuals about
Baptist Health’s obligation to notify those who
have been compromised by a breach of
unsecured protected health information (PHI).
Baptist Health’s employees are required to:
Review, Read and Ask questions about the
Notice.
