Enforcement & Sanctions


         Baptist Health’s workforce members are expected to protect the integrity, security, and
         confidentiality of all PHI entrusted to them, as outlined in our Privacy Policies.

         • If you do not follow HIPAA privacy policies and procedures you may be subjected to the
            appropriate level of corrective action, up to & including termination of employment.

                                                             • Workforce members who willfully
                                                               violate these policies risk having
                                                               their name disclosed to the
                                                               affected individual(s) & may be
                                                               reported to the applicable
                                                               licensing/regulatory agencies,
                                                               which can result in revocation of
                                                               licensure.
                                                             • Intentional violations of Baptist
                                                               Health’s privacy policies,
                                                               constituting criminal activity, will
                                                               be reported to law enforcement
                                                               and may subject the violator to
                                                               criminal penalties to include
                                                               monetary fines & imprisonment.
