Pharmaceutical Waste Disposal Program

Baptist Health has developed a comprehensive pharmaceutical waste disposal
program to ensure that we are doing our part to preserve the environment.

Our commitment to the community involves minimizing the impact our facilities make
on the ecosystem in South Florida such as our drinking water and landfills.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is the regulatory agency that
conducts unannounced surveys of our practices. They have the authority to impose
fines up to $71,264 per violation/per day. Remember, this program is federally
mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency.
