Code Rescue will be initiated for any of the
following criteria not yet being addressed: 2020 Annual Required Education
Acute Neurological Change
F.A.S.T. Acronym (Face, Arm, Speech, Time
will be used to assess patient)
• Acute loss of consciousness
• New onset lethargy or difficulty waking
• Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of
balance or coordination, or collapse
• Seizure
• Sudden loss of movement (or weakness) of
face, arm or leg, especially on one side of
the body
• Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or
understanding
• Sudden severe headache with no known
cause
• Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
