Baptist Health is Anti-Fraud
Besides healthcare fraud, there are
other types of fraud that can take place
in any business.
Some examples are:
• Inaccurate reporting of financial data
• Theft of hospital property
• Vendor selection based upon personal interests
• Inaccurate timecard reporting
The Audit and Compliance Department works to
identify areas or activities where fraud could occur.
Reports of suspected fraudulent behavior are
investigated and if found to be true, disciplinary
action is taken. Discipline could include criminal or
civil prosecution.
Conflict of Interest
A conflict of interest exists when your judgment regarding a decision could be affected
because you, or a family member, would benefit personally as a result of the decision.
For example, if you or a family member work for or have a financial relationship with a
company that:
• Does business with Baptist Health
• Is seeking to do business with Baptist Health or;
• Competes with Baptist Health
You may have a conflict of interest.
