Gifts from Vendors
Decisions on vendors we do business with must not be influenced by gifts from the
vendor. Baptist Health has specific guidelines regarding the types of gifts our employees
may accept from vendors.
First, let's talk about cash gifts and gift certificates.
Never accept a cash gift or gift certificate from any company doing business with or
seeking to do business with Baptist Health.
Now, let's consider non-cash gifts.
Non-cash gifts such as dinner or tickets to sporting events may be accepted as long as
the value does not exceed $150 per occurrence and $300 per year from a single vendor.
Remember!
Appearances are important. Always avoid the perception that a vendor is providing a gift
that exceeds our limits. For example, if a vendor is frequently providing some benefit to
you, even though it does not exceed the $300 limit, it may appear that you have some
sort of personal or financial relationship with the vendor.
